Campus Party Europe is an event organised by E3 Futura Association in conjunction with the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation held in Madrid during the Spanish Presidency of the European Union.

This event will bring together innovators of the Internet, young scientists and digital creators, all in European Internet protagonists, to participate in a special edition of the biggest on-line event for technology, creativity and digital culture in the world (www.campus-party.eu).

For four days, 800 young people from each of the 27 member states of the EU will participate in activities such as conferences, workshops and challenges centered around three knowledge areas: Science, Digital Creativity and Innovation.

One of the projects that will be showcased in this event is our blog platform Blog.com.mt.

Blog.com.mt is the first Maltese online community of bloggers. It’s a blogging platform which offers free sub-domains for every user, has a sleek unique design, interesting top-blogs, rss feeds and lots of other features! The project was launched on the 30th of September 2008 during the Freshers Week at the University of Malta. The website was advertised heavily on Facebook, Google, Insiter, 89.7 Bay Radio, Favourite Channel and other media. It was also featured on the National Television Station TVM. Now the same website has been recognised and chosen for Campus Party Europe 2010.

• Blog.com.mt had over 125,000 visitors from launch and counting!
• Over 300,000 pageviews
• 540+ registered blogs
• Hub in Google in less than a year

I wonder how many of you have seen our adverts… Basically we are currently advertising on Facebook and at the University of Malta.  We are very pleased with the results we are having! Every week is better then the previous one with new blog registrations and new posts being posted daily!

The number of visits in Blog.com.mt are increasing day-by-day! In only three weeks time, Blog.com.mt already hosts over 100 blogs! This makes our team enthusiastic to work more and more. Although we are constantly doing maintenance work which for the end-user might not be noticeable, we are planning to launch our first major-update for Blog.com.mt soon. This update includes:

• New Templates - Whoever creates a blog with Blog.com.mt can already choose from a vast selection of templates. This is done with a simple click through our blogging software! We will add even more themes for you to choose from!
• Blog Categorisation - Since we are having lots of new users creating new blogs on a daily basis, we are thinking of categorising the blogs so that blog readers can easily search through all the blogs.
• Blog Listing - Blog.com.mt home page features the latest 10 posts.  Since the blogs are always increasing, we are going to make a page that lists all the blogs so that if someone does not blog so often, readers can still find his/her blog in the blog listing page.
• Recent Comments - We are going to add a section with the latest comments from all the blogs. Cool!
